ABOUT US
The Friends of Palestine Society, founded in 2023 at the University of Salford, serves as an intellectual extension of the pre-existing Friends of Palestine Society at the University of Manchester, established in 2020.
Our society is dedicated to:
- Providing a friendly, inclusive, and welcoming platform for all supporters of Palestine to connect and build relationships.
- Educating students on campus about the rich history and vibrant culture of Palestine.
- Promoting awareness of Palestinian traditions, including attire, cuisine, hospitality, and linguistic diversity.
- Advocating for the Palestinian cause and shedding light on the enduring struggles faced by Palestinians throughout history.
- Dispelling misconceptions and fostering understanding among individuals who may hold misconceptions about Palestine and its people.

Logo Inspiration
Our logo draws inspiration from the Palestinian pound coin, which prominently showcases the olive tree—a significant symbol deeply rooted in Palestinian heritage and nature.
